Prayers for the Roman Pontiff
V. Let us pray for our Pontiff, Benedict.
R. May the Lord preserve him, and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth, and deliver him not up to the will of his enemies.
LET US PRAY: O God, Shepherd and Ruler of all Thy faithful, look mercifully upon Thy servant Benedict, whom Thou hast chosen as shepherd to preside over Thy Church: grant him, we beseech Thee, that, by word and example, he may edify those over whom he hath charge, so that together with the flock committed to him, he may attain everlasting life. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Litany of Loreto
To pray the Litany as a group, the leader recites the main body while the congregation makes the responses contained in the brackets, below. In private recitation, simply pray all the parts out loud.
Lord, have mercy on us. (Christ have mercy on us.)
Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us. (Christ graciously hear us.)
God, the Father of heaven, (have mercy on us.)
God the Son, Redeemer of the world, (have mercy on us.)
God the Holy Spirit, (have mercy on us.)

Holy Mary, (pray for us) & repeat "pray for us" after each of the following, ending with "Queen of peace"

Let us pray: Grant, we beseech Thee, O Lord God, unto us Thy servants, that we may rejoice in continual health of mind and body; and, by the glorious intercession of Blessed Mary ever Virgin, may be delivered from present sadness, and enter into the joy of Thine eternal gladness.
