About Us

Project 59 Canada (named for the 59 beads on a typical five-decade Rosary) is a Toronto, Canada based Private Association of the Christian Faithful dedicated to the New Evangelization called for by Pope Benedict XVI.  We accomplish our evangelical mission through propagation of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, primarily through the free distribution of inexpensive, handmade Rosaries and information to the general public.  In addition, through our apostolate Rosaries for Canadian Forces Abroad (R4CFA), we make and distribute special military combat Rosaries to deployed members of the Canadian Forces and their families.

The late Pope Blessed John Paul II, writing is his Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae, observed that:

The history of the Rosary shows how this prayer was used in particular by the Dominicans at a difficult time for the Church due to the spread of heresy. Today we are facing new challenges. Why should we not once more have recourse to the Rosary, with the same faith as those who have gone before us? The Rosary retains all its power and continues to be a valuable pastoral resource for every good evangelizer.

It is in this spirit that Project 59 Canada undertakes its mission as part of the New Evangelization.

Project 59 Canada congratulates His Eminence Thomas Cardinal Collins, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto on his being created Cardinal by His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI.  Please pray the Rosary for Cardinal Collins, a new Prince of the Church! Bishops have extraordinary burdens and stresses, and are attacked daily by those opposed to the truth as boldy taught by the Catholic Church.  Cardinal Collins needs our prayers, and praying the Rosary for his intentions is a powerful way to help him obtain the graces he needs to lead us as our shepherd.
